Okay, I finally got a pic of my male hummer, so here is is. New thread for 2016 hummers! I also saw two females at a time today. I've been wondering about the migration, because I hadn't seen any except the one male and female over and over.

At one time there were four hummers around at a time yesterday. The little male was not liking new new arrivals! He'd sit out on tree branches and guard "his" feeder, looking around in all directions. How dare they come here! He chased the newbies off them he could.

Saw a male today at the feeder. Earliest that I remember. Getting my other feeders cleaned so I can put them out. Hope I see one during my last feeder watch next week.

Once again this year my Hummers have built a nest in the same hanging mobile on our patio. The babies hatched a few days ago.

Dang! Crazy that your hummers already have babies! I will be putting my feeders up towards the end of this week.

I've read that their nests are about the size of a walnut. So the eggs would have to be pretty small. Maybe Peanut M&M size? Hilarious! Why am I comparing everything to food? Rolling on the floor laughing

Mellie, might be because of "the talk", huh? I keep my sugar intake pretty low. It's not so bad after you detox on sugar, at least for me! But the hummies have to keep their sugar levels kind of high or they die.

We were sitting on the front porch today where 1 of the hummie feeders hangs & saw 1 female & 2 males all together at one time so I know for sure we have 3 hummies at present.

Hurray! Hurray! Yay, Ann!

I heard one chirping yesterday so I was wondering if it was talking to another!

With all the talk about the monarch butterflies, I've been hoping the hummingbirds are OK! But, I guess they don't have the same migration...

I was able to get a shot of the Hummingbird feeding its rapidly growing babies today. I can not get too close to her so this is kind of a dark shot but you can see her feeding them, fairly well, I think. Smiling
