Everyone here has posted things to think about and some overall good information.

Thanks Everyone.

Tom, I would have to purchase a property to be able to house all the plants. I am going to go look at the operations cause something's don't total make since at the moment. If anything, as long as all the plants check out, Try to get 2 of each so that way when I wanna go the direction of a farm or iris garden I have a number of varieties on hand. That I would have room for as long as I organized it correctly.

I can only second what the others have said, and , of course wish you the best, regardless of your decision. A couple years ago, there was a gal who was trying to sell her 'mostly" E bay, iris business, and we did a lot of checking, looking, and thinking.....but, in the end, decided it wasn't for us. Too much work, and hassle for an "old " man, too much of the 'stock" was , IMHO, going to be 'un salable" , and , truthfully, not enough profit potential to justify either the "moving expenses", or the hiring of any 'seasonal help" we might need.

Another thing you might want to do is talk to some of the other iris businesses and get their input on how to make it work. They have done it and should have some really good information for you. Too bad Dee is going through some stressful times right now, or she would be able to help. I'm sure she's got too much on her plate right now to be dealing with this kind of thing, but there are others to contact.

I think that money would be better spent picking out whatever irises you know you want from even the newest cultivars over the next few years.
