Those are so pretty! I've always been curious about how to plant things into bowls and dishes that don't come with a drainage hole. Is there a layer with rocks at the bottom? Do you drill a drainage hole? How do you avoid root rot if you're a bit too generous with the watering Whistling

I agree. I was such a snob and would never go to a thrift store. Then one day my car broke down at the post office and when I called AAA since Goodwill was across the street I decided to go in there to kill time until they arrived. I was having so much fun I did not realize how long I had been shopping. *Blush*

I came out with so much garden stuff I had a hard time getting it all in the trunk.

I drill a hole in the bottom of the cups & bowls with a diamond hole saw. You can get a set of 9 on amazon for under $8 with free shipping -
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00S2WKQAC/

Just put water in the bottom of the container to keep the bit cool and drill away. The bits are a little hard to start because they don't have a center bit but I just tilt the bit side ways until I get a groove start and then go vertical to finish it off.

Good luck,

Dan

A few neat containers. I found some shades that I thought I could plant something in because of the hole in the bottom. The coconut monkey was to cute. Won't something that will make him look like he has hair look good??? Lol.

And baskets

Nice haul, Suga! I love the idea of those shades! They're a perfect shape for succulents. The coconut monkey could be a chia monkey Hilarious! The bowl in the third picture reminds me of some Blue Ridge pottery we have that came from my husband's grandmother. It's beautiful Lovey dubby
