I know some of us are still placing new orders or continuing to add like myself, but which order so far are you most looking forward to getting? It could be because of bonuses, the irises that you picked out, or a combo of both. For me I think it is a tie between my Mid-America orders collectively and my Keppel order. It is really hard to choose though, because I love them all. My Sutton order is also high on the list because of bonuses, since I love all of their intros Lovey dubby

My orders this year are "mostly* for replacements, but, one "new to me" iris that I'm anxious to have is "Medrano", on my Superstition order. And there are some "replacement" iris that I am REALLY happy to have a line on, as well !
I have orders in at:
Superstition
Bluebird Haven
Willow Bend
Iris Whisperer
Cynthia's
C & T
Iris City
Winterberry
Blue J
Argyle Acres
Schreiner's
and another at a 'private garden", plus lots of gracious offers from fellow forum members!

This is a hard one for me. I still "need" to order from Superstition.... Bad me for not getting it done yet. Want to put in a Mid America order too. I've never ordered from them yet. Sticking tongue out
From
Sisters: for awesome service, gorgeous rhizomes, beautiful flowers, and I'm getting Captain Thunderbolt Hurray!
Rainbow acres: because I'm getting Jeanne Clay Plank Hurray! and Lynn Williams Hurray! (first time order) and lots of other beauties.
Country Delight: great service, 2nd time ordering from CD, I got Bliss Bomb, Austrialin Rose, and a few Burseen's that I've been wanting along with some others I just had to have!
Burgard: first time order, had great prices, and looking forward to the blooms on Adoree, and all the other tag alongside that needed a home.
BlueJ: first time order. I'm getting some flatties, and some that have been on my list for a while, and some more that needed a ride to my house.
Stout: I think this is my 3rd order, again great service, nice bonuses. I'm getting Sailor's Warning, Gloriafed Glenn, and Calamity Carol Hurray! and a few others that are coming here too.

Ok, I'm going to get an e mail to superstition Iris 'today' after I get back from town. They are also #1 for personal service, great rhizomes, and great bonuses. Hurray!

I guess I'm most looking forward to Napa, Mid-A, Suttons & Stouts. But the one I am most courious about is Hummingbird. I ordered from them solely on what I read on the forums here.
What I am most excited about is the plan of planting everything in pots first. You all convinced me of that being the best way to fight rot. Can't wait to come home to boxes at my front door. What fun. Dirt is such a wonderful thing.

Blessings to you all.

The Shady Spot for the Burseens
Winterberry for the dwarfs, and Dan Laing
Superstition for their patience with my Burseen obsession
Iris Sisters for their Blyths, beautiful rhizomes and bonuses
Stout because I really like them
Aitkens for the MTB's
Napa and Mid-America for everything else

Each order has different iris I am really excited about so it is hard to narrow down. This is my first year ordering from Superstition and Mid-America and so far they have been very helpful and nice to do business with. The Shady Spot has been beyond helpful, even offering some iris that aren't on the website.

('Jasper Agate', and 'Rosalie Figge'), and of course I want 'Dracula's Kiss' from Schreiners'. nodding Thumbs up Hurray!

I have only placed two orders this year.

Superstition
Stoney Creek Iris*

I am thinking hard about placing one with "Blue J"

*Note: Yes, I know Stoney Creek is not open for orders until JUNE 14th (Flag day Whistling ). But I am special. I have ordered every year since 2008 (no order in 2009). I also have worked with the owner (Katie College) at various shows around the area. She purchased a very large garden of medians in the Summer of 2014 and go number of these will start showing up on her site soon (my estimation is about 200-250 cultivars with some cultivars being in two to three clumps.

Jolana - Check out Stoney Creek Iris when it opens on June 14th. They have had "Doodads" for sale (no they don't-see below!!) at the Landis Valley Herb Faire the last four years; so I am sure you can get it from them. Even if it is not listed as available on the site after the 14th, you should send the owner an email asking about it.

STRIKE THAT!!!!!!

I just looked it up and this is not what I remember. The one I am thinking of is a SDB. My brain needs a re-boot!

Jolana,

Knew I had seen at least two of these. On Blue J I found Fundamental @ 4.50 and Halfway to Heaven @3.50.

On Country Delight I found Doodads and Prague both @ 6.00 and Cranberry Sauce not available. But I would ask "Could you by any chance spare a piece of Cranberry Sauce?" She suggests you E-Mail for availability.

I do not see minimums for either. Both give E-Mail addresses.

Tough question. I ordered some from more than others, but...

Keith Keppel Iris: He's like the guru. His detail and years of work are second to none just about. Brad's pics are the greatest of enabling and Keppel's generations of crosses are just filthy. He's also very sociable and I've never met him in person. This man has paved the way and his legacy will go on years after me. Just imagine the plants we don't see, the intros to be down the road. Just when you though you've seen the best...boom, another one comes along.

Iris Sister: Great deals, great service, great selection of Keppels and Blyths which I really love. Robin is one of the sweetest and quickest responder I know. They only have a few intros, but they are very nice and I will almost have them all. Very generous as well with bonuses. I think she's part of the Keppel/Blyth mafia too, so that's a plus. Rolling on the floor laughing

Stout Gardens: They have a different selection and wide of varieties of cultivars from various hybriders and decent prices. They're the early birds so I placed 2 orders.

Burgards: Catherine is funny and nice. Her prices are VERY generous, but no complaints. She has what everyone sold out of. Smart! Great selections of 2014's from great hybridizers. No offense, but it was like shopping a clearance rack or mis priced products. Almost unbelievable!

Sutton: the wide ruffle styles are unmatched. The colors of rebloomers are beyond awesome. A family gang with Chelsea behind the incoming traffic and international sensation Anton Mego intros in their side pocket!

Mid-America: I was running out of spending fun, but wanted a certain Black. I think Tom and Paul have some amazing intros along with sidekick Miss Linda Miller. I spoke to Tom on the phone one day. For me it was like speaking to a hybridizing idol. He was taking a payment from me, but was still cool to hear from a guru. He's like Justin Beeber of irises

Napa: Might be my favorite of orders. They had a great selection of chocolates which I'm trying this year. They combined my shipping before I could even send a email back out also. I placed 2 or 3 orders Thumbs up

Mariposa Iris: Mr. Kanarowski has a very vivid and descriptive variety to choose from. His "go big or go home" factor is not the normal. Normal sucks! I did feel some were 20% more unique than others out the. He's not shy to share vigor info, pod and pollen fertility, bud, branch and stem info Thumbs up

Winterberry: I first read that Don Spoon was from Charlotte, NC, so I was like coool. Mrs. Ginny Spoon and him also have a killer arsenal of rebloomers with zone info. Their site is unmatched in information as well. I was so entertainined reading about starting out vending, hybridizing and other detailed info.

Williamson: They have a redicolous selection. A lot from about everyone out there.

T's flowers: great person and great rhizomes. She takes orders later on and I will definitely be on the order list again. When I was new she dug some for me in early November. I told her never mind, but El Nino started and she was dealing with good weather still. You rock!
Gimme it and I'll grow it!

So well put Gabe! I feel like iris people are just so wonderful. Every email exchange I ever had has been prompt and kind and so personal even with people I have never talked to before, especially Robin and Keith. I admit when I received my first email from Barry Blyth I was so starstruck and I am never like that. It was like talking to a celebrity. I am beyond happy with the quality, generosity, amazing intros and personal touch from each vendor. I guess that is why I have sunk a small fortune into my orders this year Green Grin!

Gabe, wonderful post Thumbs up Thumbs up Especially interesting for those of us aliens (!) who can't order from many of the wonderful hybridisers in the US (I SOO want a 'Why Cows Gossip', best name ever!) - your post is almost like a soap opera, reading the down-and-dirty! I do occasionally browse even those websites I can't buy from, but that doesn't tell me about whether they're helpful, friendly, informative...

In my oracle capacity Angel , I predict that within a few years you will be a really 'in' hybridiser and everyone will be wanting your introductions! If I'm right, try to do a Mid America and let Europeans buy your stuff! Hilarious!
