Thanks for the comments everyone.
mistyfog ask
Fred, did you do any crosses of Buddy's Spook x Waves of Joy?
I don't think I set any seed on it because it was a single prolif in a pot
that James Hall gave me. I will set seed on it this year, I planted it this
pass fall and it has increased and looks great.
This is a James Hall seedling from his BUDDYS SPOOK

Thanks Fred for posting the different versions of the same bloom. This gives people that are novices a real expectation of what a plant will look like under different conditions.

I wish more hybridizers would post multiple bloom photos, bad hair days and all! Smiling then I wouldn't think I did something wrong when I plant it and my bloom never lives up to expectations...

Fred - I could tell right away that the seedling had Dragonfly Dawn genetics in it by just looking at the flower. Beautiful!

Amazing how a daylily can change while it decides what it wants to
be when it grows up.

Those ALL look great, Fred. I'm loving patterns this year. Hope to see
some patterned seedlings bloom in this garden in a couple of months.
I can hardly wait.

For anyone new here, UFs are my favorite form of
daylily, 50% of my seedlings each year will be Dip UFs.

I really love those first two, Fred, and I agree -- such a bummer to have darker colored daylilies that are always splotchy -- but those first two... Drooling -- especially that beautiful golden one... WOW!

This has really improved since the sepals have straightened out.
I set it in a rack to take the photo, too windy in the seedling field.

Fred, the blooms look nice, but I realize it takes more than that to make a nice plant. What is wrong with these?

Fred - I don't know why you would be embarrassed as I think they are all lovely! I especially like that first one!

I counted 10 different seedlings with scapes this morning. Several of them will be blooming for the first time ever.

Well, Fred, I really do like the third one. It appears to be a dark rose, one of my favorite colors. It is welcome to come to SC to live on so that it's not relegated to compost Smiling

I had one mixed seedling bloom today, it has the beautiful name of Sdg, #3. All my mixed seedling I bought in Mobile last year are planted too close to the back fence and it is preventing the blooms from opening fully. Of course they were very tiny when planted, and of course the sun comes up in just the right direction to draw them toward the fence. But, you would have thought I would have realized the plants were going to grow and would have given them more room. Well, come fall I will decide which ones if any to keep, and move them away from the fence.

I agree -- could there be more complex patterns developing in the first three when the weather warms up? I must admit I'm curious about the parentage -- and please don't be worried about embarrassment, as I know we will consider all this educational!
