In the beginning GOD created ...
These were blooming at the test garden - I was told they are the old historic iris found at abandoned home site.
Looks like a LA iris.

Except those beards are not typical of an LA. I wonder if is is a flattie (flat bearded iris).

A flat bearded iris - OK. I don't know much about irises but am learning every time I get on this forum.
Wish I gotten a better picture of it...it started blooming early March.

I was gifted Flat Broke which is a purple, or lavender, 'flattie'. I don't really care for them. I like the traditional form of bearded irises.
