My friend gave me 2 chrysanthemum plants that she received for Easter. Each flower is about 5" across. If I plant them in my garden (zone 6) will I get a large flower like that next year, or do you only get a large flower if you disbud them like gardeners who exhibit mums?

In most cases the large mums around the holidays are florist mums and are not hardy.
