It's getting late to start seeds here, they wouldn't be large enough to plant out before winter here, but in the warmer areas it should be OK. Have you tried selling some seeds on E-bay? I hear that can be done, but haven't ever tried it. Also Cory, I should have several day lilies to share for postage if you still need some.

I'm with Tom on it's to getting late to be stating seeds now. Best bet to wait till fall to pot them up, or start them indoors. No I haven't tried E-bay. I'm thinking it's not worth messing with. Selling on there is a pain sometimes. Tom, I'm all for daylillys. Just let me know when and how much.

I have some big clumps of some daylilies that I could dig right now, so If you want some for postage let me know. They would be older varieties, and could be all named or some NOIDs too if you want them. They take up a lot of space in a box, so it would be a large flat rate box or two.

That is her address. she doesn't have e-mail, but someone else has set on up & would get back to you. that e-mail is [email protected]

I wish I had brought my glasses upstairs, but I think I have it. Margaret & I have been in correspondence so if you tell her that Lucy Burton gave you the address, she won't think it is a fake offer. I would guess she would tell y ou to send the seed to her address. They get a good many species donations but not as many garden bearded seeds. so I would guess that she would ask for them. When we have had seeds I send each batch in its own small coin envelope.

If they get soaked now, would I need the 6 weeks of refrigeration before potting? 7 weeks out would put me potting them in early June. I wonder if that would be too late? New rhizomes get planted in late August/early September but are more hardy than the seedlings. If I pot them, I guess the real question is: is it okay to bring the pots inside during periods of really cold temps? I figure it would be best not to plant them in a garden bed until next spring.

They will need the time to "chill" before planting them.

Boy, Cory, I sure would have jumped on this if I thought I could possibly grow from seed, but I don't think I could. I've just ordered my first iris plants and can't wait for that. Someday I'll be up for seeds big time! Crossing Fingers!
