Here are some pictures of it in bloom and the 3 hummingbirds
have been drinking from it today!

I find that red flowers are so hard to photograph as well as
cardinal red birds...Something about the red changes as you
work so hard to take the picture with a good background.

Me too. We've been having freeze warnings for days and now a little snow. Our avg. high is 63 and our avg. low is 42.

Great shot with the hummer. Do you know what the Salvia variety is Sheri?

I agree with Marilyn, the pics are beautiful - I too am curious which variety of autumn sage it is. Smiling

I'm new so I might be stating the obvious. It is Salvia Greggii. Round these parts (Texas), we call it Cedar Sage, Autumn Sage and seems like there's another name that has just drained from my brain. Here's a couple pictures (in different light) to be sure we're talking about the same plant. It bloomed like crazy in the spring and kinda petered out midsummer or so (but I am a plant abuser) but it has come back now in it's full glory.

Thanks, y'all. Can never have too many salvias. I have a hot pink one that's coming back strong. I promised myself I'd keep track of it's name. Lost. On the other hand, I have a pretty little bright purple one that I do have the label for but I think that it's wrong. So y'all should know that generally speaking I'm not good with names. But Texas is so full of the beautiful Autumn Sage aka Salvia Greggii that Ms Smarty Plants here couldn't resist answering your 'whatchamacallit' question.
