In Robson, this great colourful mix of Michaelmas daisies, had seeded themselves into a a great mound of bark mulch that had broken itself down into a wonderful batch of soil. The first variety that would come into bloom was a star performer that I called "Blue Eyelashes" because it looked like it was batting it's blue eyelashes at me, and it always made me smile.
I gave away a lot of these mixes, but saved some for our new place in Castlegar. Here the red chrysanthemums are flanked by a mauve, a pale pink and a white mix.
The "Blue Eyelash" beauty, gazes out from under the Physocarpus "Diabolo". I am glad to have brought these friends to my new home.
