I really like to mix it up a bit in the gardens, so I'll be posting more once I take more pictures. But here's a start:
I have various Ice plants in with the semps and sedums:

Delosperma nubigenum

D. Red Mountain:

And an unknown Delosperma that I'm hoping is hardy here. The nursery got it mistagged so they have no idea either. It comes in red, purple and orange, and blooms all summer. Well, I'll find out this winter!

I also recently picked up D. Tiffendel and D. Beaufort West for the semp beds.

Tabby, we cross posted. Love those photos. I have Delosperma nubigenum but it hasn't bloomed for me yet. It is a new plant for me this year. Now I can't wait for next year, that yellow is gorgeous. Your D. 'Red Mountain' and the NOID have such vibrant color. Those will be so striking growing with the semps.

This will be a wonderful thread for reference when looking to buy/trade new plants to grow with the semps and sedum.

It's a NOID Sandi. I lost the tag years ago. That one never turns green or light colored. It's color does change though.
You can see it in this wreath photo at a lighter color.

The penstemon were in this bed first, before the semps, so I left some of them. They are seedlings of P. mexicali Red Rocks and Pikes Peak, so are various shades of pink and purple. They;re getting bloomed out finally, but put on a good show all summer. I like them because they don't get too big, unlike the P. strictus in the back of the bed.

Tabby that is an adorable penstemon. If you have any extra seedling next spring could I trade for some?
The orange delosperma is like a neon light. Love it.

You can have whatever you want. Just though you might like some columbine seeds now. All you have to do is plant them now and they will come up in the spring.
Is that how the penstemon seeds do?

On second thought, maybe I will take some columbine seeds. Columbines do very well here, but I mostly have blue and yellow.

The penstemons self seed so I would think you could sew them now. In the past I've grown P. strictus by collecting the seed in the fall, storing it in a baggie in the fridge all winter, and then sewing it in flats that were outside in March so they got good and stratified. On the other hand, the P. strictus self seeds really well too, so I probably didn't need to go to all that trouble.

So the seed that fell in the garden took care of itself?
I know that's the way my native columbine seed does.
Sending you mail.

The catalogs are starting to come in and I've noticed there's a new ice plant called Fire Spinner. Looks gorgeous. Anybody seen it yet in person?

I just found another interesting South African succulent that I think I can buy locally if Timberline website is accurate about what they have in stock- Aloinopsis spathulata.
Looks really neat!

It was nice out today - nearly reached 60 F and the wind was light, so I cleaned up a bit outside. It's put me in a gardening mood.

We have been having buckets of rain. Wet and cool, in the high 40's today. About the same temps at night. This coming week winter is suppose to arrive here. We'll see.

I just looked up Aloinopsis spathulata. What an interesting plant. Wonder if I can grow it here in the PNW. Maybe if I plant it in mostly sand and gravel? I love the mound of leaves it makes.
