I got some marigolds...after planting them I was looking at the empty pots and a lightbulb went off. They were the small pots that are flat on one side. I punched a hole in each one and screwed them to the fence, added dirt and plants. a "fence garden"

A nice way to add some color to your fence.

Brilliant use of otherwise toss away pots. I've looked for flat sided pots. They are had to find! (do we ever toss away pots?)
