There is a flower I saw that has flowers almost identical to dead nettle or henbit, but the leaves look more like long stems trailing all over. What could it be?

How are you seeing a similarity?
The flowers of dead nettle/henbit are completely different than the flowers on Galium/cleavers/bedstraw.

That can't be right, the leaves and flowers are too spiky. I get purple dead nettle infesting my yard and this looks similar but different.

Same species with slight differences from the original. When there are small differences in specimens that are not significant enough to qualify as a subspecies, then it is sometime given a var. (variety) designation.
