This was bought two years ago as MDB Zipper. Definitely not. It is SDB in size. I keep it in hopes I will see one like it and can acquire it to grow with this little one for ID purposes. So far I have not found one. It is a sunny bright garden iris and faithful to bloom every spring so far.

I have one that looks similar to that one John, but not a very good photo of it.

This will be my second year trying to Id it. I've Googled yellow historic Iris, yellow bearded iris and a few others. Nothing close. And it is close to yours.

Mine may just be an old seedling that grew and survived. I have another old yellow that I really like.

Bonnie what a beautiful yellow.

Debra I really like the second noID.

John I love that pink IB.

I have a purple noID from a garage sale. It blooms first. The flowers can be 5' tall. This one is about 4'.

grannysgarden said:This one was bought as SDB Exotic Blend. Definitely Not. Another little SDB I would like to put a name to if possible. This is not a very good photo. It only had one bloom and was damaged by rain. I will relegate to a green pot and label it 'noid not exotic blend'. Perhaps it will send up blooms next year that make it more identifiable.

Does it have yellow underneath the falls? Looks a lot like True Grit that I just posted.

Here is an "error" shipped to me; a NOid now but the id should be found sooner or later:
16cm/6.5 in stem, leaf 22cm/9 in, bloom about the size of older TB's

I posted it elsewhere also in hopes it is recognized. (The flying insect was checking it out!.)

That looks to be about 12" next to your yardstick, and if that's the case, I'd say it looks like Eleanor Roosevelt with that blue beard and early bloom.. 4-5' would throw it out of the running, however.

Thanks for your suggestions, Leslie. I grow Mikey Likes It and they don't match. It could be so many of the little guys as so many have that dark spot on the falls.

I don't think the second one has yellow on the back of the falls but I really did not check that. I will have to wait until next year and check for it. I am going to put True Grit in its notes as a possible.

All suggestions are greatly appreciated. Smiling

Lots of lovely iris on this page! I hadn't thought about it but one lady said...Are you a plant snob? I was taken aback. No, if I like it I grow it, but I do love keeping up with IDs.
