This is a wonderful idea. Make sure you use the indoor/outdoor zip ties and not the indoor only ties. The indoor/outdoor ties cost a little more and resist sun damage. Around here the indoor/outdoor ties all seem to come in black and the indoor only ties are white but you should read the label to make sure.

I learned the hard way using the indoor white ties to attach vinyl lattice to my cyclone fence. They didn't last even a year and the vinyl lattice sheets came down.

Hmpf. Didn't know that. Good to know in future. I usually use wire of some sort. I keep a small sterlite box with bits of wire and rolls so small stuff for use. Also one of string, twine, etc.
