Yes it is Chris. When Susie does that I always take them with a grateful attitude and I tell how thoughtful she is. When she isn't looking I dispose of it. Whistling
She always seems so happy that she is feeding the family. Thumbs up

Aaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
Bill is back. I went out this morning and about 10 large clumps of semps were dug up and over turned, with a green hazel nut in the hole. Crying
I am now determined to Kill Bill.

I'm still having some problems with toads digging up my semps to make nice dark cool holes. Robins unearthed semps yesterday in their exuberance to get at worms. And there's still three rabbits that have made my yard their home that will eat the semps come winter, unless I get the chicken wire hats on everthing.

Fortunately I don't have too much of a rodent problem anymore.
When it comes to rodents, Donovan will hunt them down!

Awwww, what a wonderfully handy cat Donovan is. Can you clone him?
My Suzi is getting old and can't keep up with the hunting. When she was young the squirrel (Bill) would not have come into our yard. Yep, Bill is a squirrel.

I want a cat that mows lawn!!! Hilarious! Lynn, Bill sounds evil. Hope you can get rid of him soon. Knock on wood, but at the moment I'm not having problems with any critters wrecking my semps. But it was about this time last year I starting having toad and rodent wars.

Unfortunately, Donovan is getting lazy now that he's 9. There was a time when he would have eaten all the rabbits in my yard, but he only goes after the small ones now.

So, I have a toad question.

As the season for making hypertufa ends, I'm thinking about using up my last bit of cement for making hypertufa toad houses to put in my semp beds in hopes that the toads would use them instead of uprooting my semps.

But, before I do this, does anybody know if toads actually use toad houses? Would paper wasps just move in like they do with all my hand railings, electrical outlets and yard art?

I like my toads, but also like my semps to stay put.

I have a few toad houses and have never seen a toad in them. But I've never seen wasps or anything else in them either.

I know a neighbor I used to have had toad houses and she would find toads in them. Not sure how hers were made though. I would think it would also depend on location.

We will be watching Tabby to see if it is a success. : )

Bump. Has anyone tried the recipe Debbie gave us in the first post to this thread? I am curious to know how well it works, and also wonder if it would work on slugs?
I love the last bit of information about squirrel/rodent proofing bird seed. Thumbs up
