This is the end of the Burseen iris for me this year. But as I am adding over 30 new ones this year I hope to have many more blooms to show you next year. And all of you that have his iris need to post too! There is such a wide range of color, style and the unusual in his works. Mr Burseen!
Osay Canuc got the second highest votes for the People's Favorite at our iris show. Supreme Sultan got the most votes as it was huge and perfect. I do not know if Osay won because of the unique name that caught people's eye and humor or because it was quite pretty that day.
Okay I have a big announcement for Burseen lovers! Starting next year there will be three gardens that will be introducing Burseen iris for Tom. This is wonderful because it will be much easier to access his catalog of wonderful iris. And more importantly it frees Tom up to work more with his iris and worry less about getting them out there.
The gardens that will be introducing will be Stout's, The Shady Spot and the Nichols' Hillcrest Gardens. I have gotten orders from Judy at The Shady Spot and orders from Hugh Stout and they are both excellent to work with. The Nichols are friends of Tom's so will do his iris justice too I am sure!
yay to those helping Mr. Burseen. If he or they needs an overflow garden I am sure I could get some beds made!

Name: Stephanie Dallas/Ft. Worth (Zone 8a) Hello from Texas!
I love Burseen irises! I live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and I have over 100 myself and am always looking to add new ones to my collection. I am looking for 'Messi Jessi' & 'Fluff Stuff" if anyone has any to sell or trade. :)

I have others of his, too - but I'm waiting to see
how they do in CA. (I'm meh on the weird names, but I can
understand the pressures of coming up with new ones all the time !).
Jan, his irises do very well here. I only lost a couple that were underwater in last years storms. Otherwise, they do great in our hot Summers and they don't fail to bloom and increase.
