I am wondering if there is a rose that will thrive in a bed that gets only moring sun in zone 5 or other small 20 to 30 inch tall flowering shrub other than Spirea.
I am also having an issue with a 3 foot deep area between the house and sidewalk that has globe arbs that do well, but other deciduous shrubs aren't. This area is morning sun also. It had potentilla which died, replaced with strawberries and cream hydrangeas which needed to be moved for more sun and now has little henry sweetspire which aren't doing well. Any suggestions, please.

Deutzia is a good choice. There are different cultivars in different sizes but I have Chardonnay Pearls that only gets winter and early spring sunshine then it's in shade until the leaves fall. Same for my Miss Kim lilac. Some Azaleas also would be good. They usually grow at the edge of the woods.

Azalea Bollywood and Azalea Weston's Parade are a couple smaller ones.
