Jon, I am really surprised you have no one posting about Mint Octopus. I just acquired it last fall, and it now has two scapes, hopefully will have at least one more. I love the pictures I have seen and I will definitely let everyone how this one does when it blooms for me--with pictures, of course.

I have only had it for one season. It put up a scape with a few lovely blooms but without trying the pod or pollen I don't have a lot to add.

Mint Octopus was purchased 2016, it struggled the first 3 years so I moved it to an area where it was surrounded by daylilies, It did bloom but only one scape with 2 and 3 blooms. I figured it was a beauty but not a showcase plant, surround it with lots of other blooms. lol It has been doing much better each year now. (as you can see in the pic) I have yet to use it for pollen or seeds. Maybe this season. I believe it likes having a crowded area to grow in. pic is Applique with Mint Octopus. This year was a drought year and it still performed very well. Worth another look for sure.
