You could plant them now. Here's an article about asparagus care that might help you:

Hi Dancer - You might want to plant that asparagus fern in a pot, rather than in the ground. It's a Category 1 Invasive in Florida, and if you ever get tired of it, it will be very difficult to eradicate. I have a few in pots, and they're so airy and lovely, but in the ground, they're pretty aggressive.

I didn't read the subject line carefully enough, I thought he was asking about asparagus the vegetable, not the asparagus fern. Your answer is the right one, IbisFla - thank you. Smiling

From someone who lived in Florida and thought the Asparagus fern was 'so pretty' -- listen to IbisFla ... invasive -- pot it if you must have them ! They are the darndest things to dig up !
Live like every day as it is your last because one day -- it will be.
(if I can find who said this, I'll credit that dear Soul -- wasn't me, but it makes a lot of sense)

This isn't a dress-rehearsal ~

It is beautiful, but definitely pot it up. Don't plant it in your garden! It has been invasive in my garden in hot Arizona!
