We have two of these planted in and unirrigated plot where they get minimal hand irrigation and they've done well through the drought. Here is one at it's maximum bloom in September. It needs room as it flops under the weight of the bloom. Extraordinary shade of blue. I'm expecting an even better plant after our winter and spring of rain.

Salvia azurea is a beautiful blue color. I loved it. I grew it in the ground for years, but lost it.

I've read that the cultivar 'Little Boy Blue' is upright and the same color but have never seen it for sale. I don't like to stake or tie things up so I'd like to try it if I can find it.

I am going to get one of these this year with my order from Gardens in the Wood of Grassy Creek. It was one that was recommended by High Country Gardens to grow beside Scrophularia Macrantha (Redbirds in a tree) which I got 2 of from them. I have been considering S Azurea but so far others have had priority. Looking forward to growing it. Nice pictures! Smiling
