For me- a VERY exciting happening:
Thumb of 2016-04-25/alwaysbehindMN/9b6754

Today is the day I decided this little red sprig is really a shoot from one of the 2 mlokosewitschii seeds that I planted last fall
and not just my imagination! And I believe the other seed has germinated also, but its shoot is even tinier.
Now I have to figure out how to make sure they live through this summer. A long time to wait to see a blooming plant, but I am
brimming with optimism. The parent plant is looking great, lots of flower buds, and some are already starting to show color.

YEAH LINDA!! Isn't it amazing to see a new baby peony being exposed to the light for the first time??? I have a couple of the same, mine came up for the first time last spring, it'll take years to get a bloom but that's okay! Pretty neat to know there isn't a single other person in the world that has one EXACTLY like yours, huh?

Mary Stella- They were seeds from my own mature mloko. plant. I got the root division in 2004, waited 4 years for it to bloom, and last fall it gave me its
first 2 seeds. So I will have a LONG wait to see blooms from these little shoots, if they survive!
