Every now and again...I will stop at Marshalls or Home Goods or TJMAX..

The home sections are stuffed with stuff we have no room for and will never need....

BUT

Sometimes......just sometimes........

I thought I would share some past finds and hope you will too.

This thread is for new purchases that you intend to put in your garden....even tho that may not be the original intent or function for the item

I will start to give you an idea...

This is a tall vase"art glass" but not really.. Less than $10 and that is mid priced..just because it is tall. It has been out for 3 years in winter no fade and no break from climate....but I did drop it..broke its base...it was used as a birdbath "base" with a glass platter on top... . Now I flip it to catch the sun..great where I need a little red. The little glass squares assure a shimmer when passing it.

Next is a candle holder!! I would not use it for that..too big...BUT I nail it to the top of tree stumps..I cut the tree high so it is in scale with the holder..meaning the tree top where it is attached is not much wider than this "finial! " It is down now for a painting..I hot glued glass pebbles to it and the glue failed ..will paint and use E6000

NEXT is another candle holder..open top..came with chains..I flip it to put on this metal stand for vines

Next are the birds...These were highway robbery at $2.50 Home Goods..I threw a fit and manager gave me a free one. Sprayed with Thompsons. Those sit on the potting bench but look good on fence posts ..you will see 3 iron birds too got a Marshals a few years back they do sit on fence posts

The two light globes..one was a waste of $$ the glass squares fall off..it is the one with the red crystals...the other is also custard colored glass..both are lamp tops..the little table top lamps ...7-12 watts??

Very inexpensive..forewarned sometimes the glass is cheaply glued on..I went for the shimmer..should have stuck with the solid glass.

Last.. These glass shelves..( from refridgerators and medicine cabinets and such..I use to break for tempered small pieces for bowling balls ) but after Christmas got ornaments and found other broken things and made a "plant" stake...it is dirty 😣 So excuse

I absolutely love everyone of these.

They look perfect in the your gardens and like you said - they don't have to be watered, fed, or weeded Green Grin!

That horse was used for the photo..it does not wear that hat. That lamp shade is the one that the glass falls off. I am thinking of going to HD and buying a cheap replacement globe and making my own

I especially love the four little birds!

I shop often at Ross and find fun things like this but mine so far were made for the garden. I need to rethink that right now!

Thank You!

I am going to show your comments to DH...he has this long piece of Hairdiplank
"Hardiplank is too expensive to waste..that is our piece in case we need to replace...that is a dumb idea..if you are on a trail..who is going to be looking up 😳😳😳...and who is going to dig the holes and cement it in..." Ugh....

He has this piece of wood-grained Hardiplank...I want to place it across a small path (nailed between two cedar poles [cemented in] ) as an entrance way...I can't paint...I will admit that...but 10 feet up is forgiving...I want to paint Rosie sitting in a patch of flowers ..she was always on that trail with me. He will not help me.. Hardiplank is perfect for that job, it takes paint so well. I am going to get it..paint it ...and see what he says...if not I will find someone and one day when he gets home S U R P R I S E ! He is still mad sbout the paint patches on the wall in the living room...😂 Rolling on the floor laughing

Rosie you are an inspiration! I tip my hat to you. Guess I had similar ideas when visiting Home Goods last week. They had different bowls that would make pretty bird baths in the sale area and a metal thingy (sorry, don't know what it was made for) with cut outs. It is about the size of a medium coffee can. I had a cheap solar stake from Walmart that I pulled apart and stuck inside this can thing and put it under my lemon tree on a plant stand. Voila! It looks great at night. Even DH was impressed! When I get "pedestals" for the bowls, I'll post pics. So excited to do this. Just remembered it was senior discount day at Goodwill. Probably could have found some great pedestals there. Maybe I'll find a garage sale this weekend Crossing Fingers! Smiling
Thank You! for the great ideas Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

Good going!
Look forward to seeing your stuff

Pay attention to the bases on GLASS vases if you choose those ( they do "spark" up ) because to sit in dirt or to hold up a bowl or plate you need sturdy and strong ..I have broken a few.

Thank You! Rosie Thumbs up Will definitely keep that in mind. Everything in our back yard needs to be able to stand up to a 100' garden hose. Our bird baths are also the watering holes for neighborhood cats Sighing! Not conducive to bird watching Shrug!

Sometimes the shops will have candle holders or flower "pots" meant to be hung...comes with chains....you can slide a bowl onto the top of those and hang by chain..(I get it about the hose.)

You can do the same with a colander use the holes for the chain ...just look for something that will support a bowl with water and can be hung in a tree or from a hook. Those hoses are fearful ...I don't have a cat issue thank goodness.
