Hello, succulent folks! I was at Lowe's today and they had a wide variety of succulents for sale so I took some pictures and was posting them to the plant database. However, there were a couple I couldn't find so I wondered if you guys could help me out. Are they in there but I have the spelling wrong, is it a synonym, is it not in there at all? Any help would be appreciated.

The first is Aeonium 'Catlin Hybrid'. I saw a 'Jack Catlin' cultivar, but wasn't sure it was the same thing.



I Googled this one and I think it's a bigeneric. It didn't look like we had it in the database, although I saw one with the name 'Rainbow Bursts'.

Jack Catlin (noted Aeonium breeder) was responsible for such hybrids as "Cyclops" and "Blushing Beauty", among various others. In addition there is a hybrid bearing his name, which was named in his honor after his death. Presumably there are quite a few plants he never named, and these would be known as Catlin hybrids to indicate the source. If you're looking for a place to put your picture in the database, I would recommend the Aeonium parent listing, perhaps with a note alongside indicating the extra info.

Echinobivia is not a recognized species. Echinobivia is supposed to be a hybrid between Echinopsis and Lobivia but if you Google Echinopsis x Lobivia Rainbow Burst, you get this:

Which doesn't look anything like what is being labeled Echinobivia Rainbow burst.

I have one and it is labeled Echiobivia Rainbow Burst. It looks exactly like the pink one above. I would love it if it did look like the first photo of Echinopsis x Lobivia.
