They're working okay for me, too - Josephine, do you possibly have them turned off in your "site preferences" ?

Can you give thumbs to posts? Or are those also not working for you?

This morning I saw an Event entry for a plant I have so clicked on it and tried to add it to my list. When I clicked on either option to add that plant to my list, nothing happened.

I could do other actions on the page like make a comment, post a photo, etc

Azalea (Rhododendron 'Pink and Sweet')

Also cannot add a plant to my list from my personal plant list pages. Click and nothing happens.

Judy - sometimes the emoticons don't work correctly for me. I do a restart of my computer and things work again. You might try restarting?

I've been noticing that the thumbs-up doesn't work all the time the past few days. Sometimes I have to click it several times before it will activate. Just now having the problem. When the thumb did activate, it stayed green but the number ticker went up.

Emoticons don't work when you edit a post. They aren't an option there. I keep forgetting that and decide too late to add one and then can't when I go back and edit.

Just tried to post an emoticon in this reply . They still do not work for me at all. I cannot ive a thumbs up to a post and I was unable to call 'dibs' on items toward the end of the Mid Atlantic seed swap just ended.

Have reloaded my computer many times but seems to make no difference., Also site is loading very slowly for me since ATP and Garden.org merged. Again, maybe I'm the only one experiencing this s l o w n e s s?

Judy, you are using an ancient version of firefox. Please update to the latest, or try using Google Chrome. If you can do that, please do.

The way around that is open a second window, and using any thread, click on an emoticon as if you are replying, then copy and paste it to you edit post. I know, a long way around to getting one added and I rarely ever use it but sometimes you just have to add one to soften or really spice up a reply! nodding

@Dave
Yes, I'm Firefox 2.0 and as updated as my ancient os (mac 10.4 ) can take me. Can live w/o emoticons and thumbs up and maybe by the next seed swap I'll have a new fangled computer with all the latest bells and whistles!

Really did enjoy zipping around this site when I got active again in Dec...lol the speed was almost too fast for me! Are you saying it is the the sheer volume of stuff and increased traffic since roll in to Garden.org that has me in the slow lane? Other sites I visit are unchanged .

Hey, thanks for the response!

I really don't know. The site is super fast for me, actually. If it's being slow I really can't say why. I'm continuing to investigate everything I can but without experiencing it myself, I'm kind of shooting in the dark.

Another thing to consider is your internet source. I think when I have problems it might be my internet signal is slow; we're on satellite here and lately it's been slow quite a bit. I'm also recently negotiating a new computer (and a new camera) so I'm really-really happy that the transition from ATP to Garden.org has gone so smoothly. Thank you @dave! Thumbs up Green Grin!

I have had some slowness the last two days but it has been on all sites so it's either my internet or my laptop. When it gets too frustrating, I reboot and go head outside to garden/weed. Often just that reboot works, go figure. Hilarious!

Just took 8 minutes to load site and another to load Weather thread in Mid Atlantic forum.
This thread from Welcome page took a minute. All from a fresh reboot and empty cache. cookies, etc.

Just 'sayin', not complaining. I am on dial up so I know the days and days of some amounts of rain has waterlogged the telephone lines.
