Whenever I don't have headsets on which is a rarity anyway, there always a stupid song in my head while I work in the yard. For hours. The same stupid song. So stupid I don't even hum it. It's just rents out space in my head. Not Top 40 stuff either. But dumb stuff like the Ice Cream Man would play from his truck... Pop Goes the Weasel, The Muffin Man or dumb jingles made up in my head. Drives me NUTS!! Time to bring out the Bluretooth speaker and drive the neighbors crazy.

If I don't have random bits of nursery rhymes or old school songs running around my brain, the name of a flower will trigger a song that stays and stays and outstays its welcome. Two Iris have been dispensed with altogether because one reminded me of an Eagles song I never liked and the other is a local company's name with one of the most obnoxiously repetitive commercials in the history of television.
When in search of my phone, in my head is " I dont know where my phone is...." instead of Nelly Furtado's Fly Like a Bird, "I don't know where my home is..." I have a noisy head!

Songs don't get stuck in my head because I am usually singing - out loud - to either the dogs or to myself. This has always worked for me and in the olden days, when some friends and I owned a club, folks often asked for an encore so I guess my singing is not all that painful on the ears.
A friend sometimes has a song stuck in her head; when that happens I belt out "Does Your Chewing Gum Lose It's Flavour On The Bedpost Overnight". That powerful tune can chase away many things. https://www.youtube.com/watch?...

Okay. Now the dumb subject line is my earworm! From The Phantom of the Opera "...he'll always be there (The Angel of Music) playing SONGS IN MY HEAD...." over and over again!

People try to turn back their "odometers." Not me. I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved
Once a long time ago I had this song come into my head and I turned on the radio and it was playing that song at the exact same place it was in my mind. That was really freaky. Another time, all of a sudden I started thinking of a friend of my brothers who I hadn't seen in a long time. There was a knock at the door and when I answered it, he was standing there. Very strange.......It has never happened again.

I believe we all have brain power not used yet. I wonder if we HAD it and it shrunk as the years passed ( like caveman days ) (useful survival skill) or if it is still to come. You either got a glimpse of one of those two.
