I'm expecting my order from Bonnie today. Her plants are always nice and healthy, and she is one of the nicest persons around. The plants that I got from her last fall are the first to bud this spring. I can't wait to see the blooms on Ledgewood's Ring of Fire in a few weeks. The Nocturnal Butterfly, bloomed within a few weeks of planting last fall and it has scapes this spring. javaMom you should be very happy with your plants from Bonnie.

Thanks Pat,

I'm very happy with my daylilies from Bonnie and Mary and can't wait to see them blooming...

They seems like they adapted well, but have not really seen any change yet...How long do you think until they start growing new leaves, should I cut all the brown leaves/tips ?

Thank you,

The new foliage will come in from the center and the old will just turn brown. When the bottom leaves turn brown, I give them a gentle tug and pull them away. If they don't pull away easily give them a day or two and they will. Most of mine take about a week before I notice any difference.

The fans in the pots seem to need more water than those ground planted...depending on the amount of rain you get. I try to keep my potted plants semicovered(on my deck) for now, so that I can monitor the amount of water each day. We've had a lot of rain and don't want them to rot before they get started.

Bonnie sends great plants and your will be humming along in a few days.

Hi Pat,

I think they are growing slowly, maybe I will take a photo once the rain stopped...it's been raining quite a bit the last few days and temperature is quite low for mid of May.
I can see some new leaves grow inside the plants... I don't know if they will bloom this Summer...

Thanks for checking Pat and have a wonderful day...

javaMom, that's a very nice looking bed. We've had rain for the last couple of days and the daylilies are loving it. I see new foliage and scapes everywhere. Those leaves shredded by the hail storm are slowly being replaced with new foliage. Your plants will be fine. I got my first order from Oakhill last spring....some bloomed and some did not. They all have scapes this spring and I can't wait!
