That's a nice offer. I bought seeds from China last year. 100 seeds for $8.90 includes shipping. I don't think any was what I ordered (Aloe Poly) but did get some spiny kinds that look like those. Got maybe 30 plants mostly different kinds. Any way, I did purchase again from another China supplier. Just planted and got maybe 40 germinated. They are suppose to be Aloe Poly. Time will tell.

I have two fairly large aloe Veras. One on the north side of my porch and one on the south. I haven't had them bloom yet. I have no problem getting my other Aloes to bloom. Here's another picture of Aloe blue elf.

Be careful with China. I bought seeds before and they were fake. I only buy from us now

I won't buy from China anymore either, too many scammers. Wow, this post has been really informative. I bought a fan aloe last year on vacation and never knew it was a tree aloe, I've never seen a really big one.
That's a nice aloe, Brenden. Post a pic when it blooms, I'd love to see it. This is a really a selfish request as I have a similar plant that has a yellow bloom and I wonder if it is the same plant.

Your fan aloe will stay small for many more years (mine branches every 2 years) but eventually it does turn into something else.

Mine has grown about 6 inches in 6 years (potted and grown hard) to give you some idea of the speed.

Baja,
I thought that Aloe on the first page was A noblis. At least that was the name attached when I bought it.
Did you make the hybrid? Or is it just a guess?

I agree it looks like x nobilis, but that is the real parentage of the hybrid. You can distinguish it from nobilis (as pictured above) based on the spines present on the upper side of the leaf, the greater number of spines underneath, the upper surface of the leaf being flat and not slightly concave, probably other differences. With advanced age my plant should also grow a stem (it has already started; the dead lower leaves fall easily away from the stem). Both parents make pretty "pumped up" leaves. The erinacea parent is extra spiny.
