This question has been on my mind every bloom season ....

I collect the anthers with stigma and pollen attached and lay them on a paper plate inside my house (in a/c). I've tried freezing the pollen but not sure if that ever works. If I leave the anthers/pollen on the plate instead out in the open a/c, how long will it last before it is no longer any good?

2-5 days.

Refrigerate it... it'll last all season.

Some of the more seasoned pros here can give you some suggestions... But I have personally heard of frozen pollen being good for 5 years.

Peter - Thank you!

Refrigerate it, not freeze it .... to last all season?

You could freeze it also. The information out there seems to be mixed on refrigeration from people saying it lasts 10 days, to some saying it lasts all season.

I've heard firsthand from a reliable source that you can refrigerate it and use it all season.
