Same here, Barbalee. I miss the blooms. That's why I take loads of photos, so
I can look at them more closely, and make long lists of what to cross.
I do love playing with these plants.

Ah, but that is how it begins. These plants tend to grow on ya.
What is that plant in your avatar? It's very eye catching and bold.

I think that's what she had in mind, Mayo. Free daylily planting - new plants, free labor - all that sort of thing nodding .

I've inspired a number of people around my neighborhood to dig up most of their lawn. none of them yet have gotten rid of all of it, but they are getting close. Of course I donate plants to help them get started and they give me plants in return.

Obviously I don't think that I have too many and therefore, I just couldn't leave a daylily behind today when I discovered one that I don't have at a local nursery. I was there looking for tomato plants, I really was....

So I added Blackthorne to my ever growing list..... I just couldn't help myself!!!

But on a positive note, when I went to pay and handed the lady my credit card, she recognized my name and she was like, I thought that was you! Someone I worked with years ago, now retired and working part time at this nursery! So see I had to buy that plant!!

And, Blackthorne is a very nice daylily. I would have bought it, too!
