I need someone to identify this plant, even if it is just the genus. I only have the one and I think I might have gotten it in trade last year. I can find no label. I don't have any orchid plant with leaves like this. They max out around 4"x6". The pseudobulbs are squat and wrinkled. This plant has not bloomed.

You have to grow those in baskets as the spikes come out of the bottom.

I don't guess any of you sent me this plant? Whistling

I will repot her tomorrow into a nice basket. That's for that bit of information, Jim.

Ken, didn't you trade some plants with Patty? She has a big Stanhopea, maybe she sent you a division? @SarasotaPatty

Patty was the first one I contacted. She said that she did not send a Stanhopea.

Definitely wasn't me, Ken! Sorry I can't help. Does look like a stan. for sure. The one that bloomed on my birthday last year didn't spike from the bottom...they hung over the side!

It does look like those stems sort of come out of the bottom though, Patty. It looks like you have a basket-in-a-basket arrangement. I can build the basket any way I want, I just would like to do it the best way for flower presentation, hoping that I will get flowers one day. Crossing Fingers!

Ken, go to the tree mail for some better pics I just sent. I don't know what you mean by basket-in-basket...it's a single standard octagonal shaped (instead of square) wooden orchid basket. When I got the plant it was very overgrown in a plastic pot, I spend hours cutting the pot away from it, and put it in the wooden basket it is still in with regular orchid mix. It has since filled the basket and in the fall I plan on re-potting again...into a slightly larger, single, wooden basket with regular orchid mix.
