We are getting some of the weather that Texas and S. Louisiana has been getting. There has been thunderstorm after thunderstorm rolling through since 7:00 AM. We lost power for over an hour and that's really unusual for my neighborhood. All our utilities are underground. A sub-station must have been hit by lightening. The rain is really cascading off the solarium roof and the sound of the rain pounding on the glass and sight of the "waterfall" is quite soothing. My cat, Puff, doesn't like it one bit though. This stuff is supposed to continue on and off through late PM tomorrow. It'll take a week for my back yard to dry out (if we don't get any more rain).

It looks like the worst of it will be in S. Mississippi and S. Louisiana though. These areas look like they are getting pounded.

We've had over 1.5 inches of rain since last night and ours will continue like yours Ken. I've heard thunder off and on but so far so good on keeping electric. I'm so thankful for that.

This is the view from inside the solarium at 1:00 PM. It looks like it is nightfall, with the darkness caused by the thunderstorm. This is (at least) the fourth individual thunderstorm to move through since 7:00 AM. Several inches of rain so far.

The sun popped out an hour ago and it has become Sticking tongue out a beautiful day. The back yard is like a swamp though.

I haven't seen this much rain(todays) in a loonggg time. Probably around Christmas, New Years when we had flooding. Unfortunately I couldn't find my camera for today's blooms, when I did find it the deluge started. @Seedfork did you get alot of rain this afternoon? I'm afraid the weeds are going to be jockeying for position after today.

@Kabby,
We thankfully got no rain this afternoon, just a few sprinkles this morning. Water is still standing in my bog, I have put boards down just to keep from sinking down over my ankles. I hauled in a load of woodchips from the crew cleaning up the utility lines, and a few loads of leaves just trying to get the bog where I can walk on the main paths. We sure did not need any more rain. This is what the bed looked like the other day, and it has been like this for months, it is actually quite a bit dryer that it has been. So I certainly don't want any more rain for awhile. That said the upper side of my yard where the roses are is actually getting pretty dry.

Well so much for daylilies not thriving in constant wet conditions. I have a small bed over the head of our well. There is constant leakage in this bed and my daylilies adore it along with the majority of my rain lilies.

Ken I love that solarium. Drooling Sheets of rain and all!

Our gutters failed on one side coming of the steep metal roof..where two parts form a gulley.
The snakes are hightailing it to high ground.
It is starting to look like a jungle out there.
This is my view from the kitchen table...all the cows are trying to get in! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

Those trees typically look full like this..July/Aug.

The rain has made those trees so full...too full...the cows are trying to get in!

I say those are my coffee cow buddies. That window sits high enough off the outside ground level that it really could be cows looking in! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing
