Hello. I bought light green peace lily last year. One day i found all the leaf become brown and no new growth. Dont know what happen. No fungus or pest there. And no sun burn.

I just put the dead pot behind my greenhouse and try to forget it. Untill last month when i found white thing come grow on the pot. At first i wonder what is that. Look so white and albino. What a surprise its the cubs that come from my 'I think dead' peace lily !

It give me a good lesson. If you think a plant is dead, dont throw them immediately. Wait for some moment. If you are lucky the plant will come back. Maybe it because of peace lily have rhizome as food storage.

By the way, anybody know the name of it ? The colour is paler than chartreuse peace lily.

It certainly does look like a Peace Lily. The leaves are bleached out probably because the soil pH is not in the 6.0 - 6.8 range. Any direct outdoor sun will also cause bleaching. Fix the soil pH and move the plant to a shady location and look for new growth to come in a much darker green color.

Hi Will. Thank for your respon. I will check the pH later and if the plantlets big enough will try to separate them into individual pot with new soil.

But i am not sure if it is becuse of the soil or pH. Its already light green since i bought it. And I repot it to bigger pot using the same mix of soil and compost to other pot of peace lily which have dark green leaves.

Let see if they stay in that color after i separate them. I love to collect peace lily in different color ad different varegata form. I will take photograph to compare them Smiling

there is another one called 'Platinum Mist'. I put a pic of it in DB

you can see that it looks very pale yellow - part of it is due to late afternoon lighting under the canopy. But it was definitely pale yellowish to start with - perhaps due to FL soils/culture?
In other pics it appears more minty - sort of pale-green-mint color.

Hi @skylark Smiling

That beautifull peace lily. I also have one like that. The leaf first emerge yellowish but turn to minty green with age. (Photo : Comparing to white variegate variety on the right and dark green variety on the left)

I dont know if it Platinum Mist. The nurserymen simply call them silver leaf spathiphyllum Hilarious!

But it have tough wide leaves with short stem. Not like the one on the first photo we talking about, which have narrow leaves, a bit wavy and much flexible Smiling . And the color stay pale green Smiling

it surely does look like 'Platinum mist'. What a beautiful plant!
i found this article about it
http://www.newplantsandflowers...
it appears that there is another cultivar 'Platinum Dreams' that looks the same, but is larger at maturity. I am not sure how large the "Platinum Mist' grows in the pot vs the ground. The one in Florida in my pic was quite large. But obviously they get bigger in the ground :).

Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum 'Platinum Mist') sure are beautiful!! I have not seen them at nurseries or garden centers around here yet but I'm sure going to be on the look out for one!
