The white throated sparrows have returned to our area. This year they came to my yard and feeders (mostly ground foraging)

And of course our lovely cardinals .

Welcome! Lori! FYI, you've found the best forum on NGA. I'm the friendly moderator, Melanie. I'm a butterfly gardener, but the bird folks have been bringing me around to their ways. Hilarious! I'm throwing you some acorns so you can buy a badge! Your profile looks lonely without one.

I'm off to the movies today, so I expect everyone else to welcome Lori in my absence!

I am a sparrow fan and love your cardinals, nice photos. Thumbs up I hadn't realised that cardinals travelled as far north as New York, they look so exotic!

Thank you for the warm welcome! I love birds and butterflies. In our new gardens, the whole goal is to make a pollinator friendly place along with the birds. I recently bought a new Canon Rebel for taking pictures of my garden and the birds.

I love the grosbeak! I had one once that landed on a feeder by my window and I was so surprised! They are bigger than I thought they were.

Red Bellied Woodpecker nest. The babies are in there, I can hear them peeping & see mom coming & going feeding them. This is in one of the pecan trees.

I hope I can catch them but who knows. It gets hard to spot birds now that all the leaves are on the pecan trees.
