I dug all of them up and put them in twopots. They were in among maple tree roots and dwindling. They are now growing spindly in pots in the garden, but they are growing!

Prairie Harlequin from Faraway Flowers. First year bloom and it glows. Wonder if it should in the database under Harlequin Hybrids or have it's own entry?

Susan, I would think being its own named cultivar, that it would have its own listing in the database. Let's hope pard chimes in here too Smiling

Susan, send me some pollen and you and I will have some fun! I'll pollenate a couple different mixed Harlequins I have here and send you some seed later this Fall.

2015 photo.

EDIT May 29th, 2016 PM

I need to correct and clarify my earlier post which strongly inferred that Susan's 'Prairie Harlequin' is part of the original Harlequin Group by Jan de Graaff (OBF). I thought it was. I was wrong. It is not. I had assumed that 'Prairie Harlequin' was one of the original selections de graaff made and cloned from his 'Mid- Century Group' as some were named. These colorful selections would later become known as the Harlequin Group, the one we're all much more familiar with whenever the name Harlequin comes up. But the Harlequin Group has totally different parentage: ( L. lancifolum X L hollandicum ) X L. maculatum. And, as Connie stated, the cultivar 'Prairie Harlequin' is a cross made by Skinner between two L. davidii derived from unknown pollen each. Needless to say then, any crossing that I might try with Susan's 'Prairie Harlequin' and the Harlequin Group has most likely already been tried by Mr. Skinner or any one of the bulb farmers in the area who did contract growing. But, I'll give it a try anyway. Again, sorry if I mislead anybody earlier.

Everything is coming up lilies. Still waiting for a couple bulbs to make their appearance this year yet, but on the other hand i had some bulbs put up multiple stems. This is from the bed i made this year and planted. Click on the photo to see the full bed

Some of the lilies from last year have put up multiple stalks, one has around 12. Pretty sure it was only 3 stalks last year.

Such a pretty Martagon Dave. You bed is looking good and should be full of color soon. It always surprises me that some lilies can multiply so rapidly.

Connie, thanks for adding the entry to the database. I will get some more photos as it blooms.

Lorn, sounds like fun. You had better t- mail me some hints on collecting, storing and sending the pollen. I will enjoy seeing what you come up with. Yours are very pretty.

Wife got 2 hanging baskets, need 2 more. Then her annuals for a watering can planter she got and a old whiskey barrel. We ended up running short on time so only got to 2 places. I actually avoided the lilies. Lol nothing really caught my eye. One place had some 'Tiny Padhye' but I passed on it.

Wife mostly got petunias, and marigolds. A salvia. She loves pinks and purples
