Hi Everyone,

My two plants were gorgeous a month ago.

I did not know how to water them until after 2 weeks of watering the leaves with a shower of water. The black spots and yellow leaves are everywhere.
I inquired at a nursery and they suggested that I use NEEM . It has not helped.

Do my plants stand a chance or did I kill the little beauties forever?. One the roses has survived my ignorance for three years. I hope someone can help.

Black spot is a fact of life for most roses in the humid south. They will not die. Once the diseased leaves drop, they will grow brand new ones.

Thanks for giving me hope! Smiling
The stems are also spotted. I hope that doesn't change things.

Thanks for the quick reply.

@Cateyes856 Your roses will probably be fine - just look miserable until new growth comes in. Here is an additional trick you can try, that might also help. In a spray bottle, mix 1/2 milk, 1/2 water, a few drops of dish soap and a few drops of vinegar. Store the bottle in the fridge and spray the roses often - several times a week if you can. It's fine if the milk turns sour. This mixture will change the ph level on the rose leaves and make it very difficult for black spot to grow. I have used this method for about 10 years now, and it works very well in our hot, humid conditions here in Ohio. Happy rose growing!!! nodding
