'Regal Splendor' is a medium-large hosta with beautiful undulating gray-blue leaves with irregular white to creamy yellow margins. Upright habit. Lavender flowers. It's a sport of 'Krossa Regal'. I've had mine since 2006 and it did really well in the first couple of years. In 2008 I moved it to a new garden with the idea that it would become a centrepiece for that garden. But it hasn't happened. It didn't grow much at all for the first few years and still hasn't reach its full potential. I think it's because it's close to my Linden tree and I really should find a new location for it. Please feel free to share your pictures of this hosta.

Here is my Regal Splendor July of 2015. I think I got it in 2012 or 2013 as a prize in a garden club draw. Wish I would have kept better records! Counted 22 pips today so should be a good show this year. I hoped the leaves were more bluer than they are but I still like it a lot.

Another favourite of mine, I love the shape of the leaves and the upright habit. Debbie, is yours growing in a place where it gets the sun? Blue hostas often turn green in the sun because the wax on the leaves melts. I learned that when I had the identical problem! Hilarious! Hilarious!

Mika, It faces east so does get some some morning sun, especially in the spring. Once the ash trees leaf out its in a fair bit of shade. It's a good grower which I really like; I don't have a lot of patience for the finicky ones! I see there is another sport, Regal Supreme which has wider margins on the leaves; it's very attractive.

I really like this hosta, the blue with the light yellowish white edging. mine has been very slow to grow, suspect it does not compete well, will prob move it this year.

Mine was a fast grower when I first acquired it and I though I would make it the centrepiece of this new garden, but since it was moved (10 years ago now), it's been a slow grower. I think it's too close to my Linden tree as I notice that the hostas close to it don't achieve their potential very well.

I have four. Well, one now since the four refused to grow for eight years and eventually started shrinking. I've put them all into a pot and will see if they like that.

The online photos are stunning. Mine has never been stunning. If it (they) would just grow I'd be happy. I've tried them in the sun, in the morning sun/afternoon shade, shade, and who knows what variations. They are treated with TLC, but nada.

I don't recommend buying this one. YMMV of course.
