Love seeing this plant at the condo where I stayed. Enjoying the full sun and the extreme humidity there:
is this philodendron?

Sure looks like Philodendron. It reminds me of P. bipinnatifidum: http://garden.org/plants/search/text.php?q=tree+philodendron... or Philodendron xanadu
