Note Taking for Gardeners

By Boopaints

Keep a white board outside to make notes as you garden. It’s a great place to list needed supplies, reminders, and dream plants you hope to purchase.

Becky: I agree with Vic ... very clever! I need to try this one because I end up getting sidetracked when I'm outside and then forget to write it down when I come back in! I think I will purchase one of those small dry erase boards and mount it on the side of the shed on the covered deck.

Boeing has sales on unused equipment once in a while and I bought a classroom-sized dry erase board last year. Pretty sure I could fill it with garden tasks I need to do! Hilarious!

O Becky, thanks for the great tip. And I just found a dry erase board that I was wondering what to do with it. Now all I have to do is find the dry erase pens that go with it. Rolling my eyes.

I often have a little notepad & pen around my potting bench (an old washtub) for lists like that, but those little pads tend to be migratory... A magnetic dry erase board would probably be more obedient!

I want to know, though, what is a gazinnia?? It sounds quite special. I think you made it up! (But just in case you didn't, I need to know about a plant that made your white board list!)

I think the plant on Becky's list must be Gazania ... Whistling but lots of them could be Gazinnia's. Smiling

I googled "Gazinnia" and got a bunch of Gazania images... maybe it's the common name? It it's a misspelling on Becky's whiteboard, I bet it was deliberate... she has a creative sense of silly. Smiling

Nice tip but I'm a "Notepad in the pocket person taken to extremes". Yep, usually carry at least two in my shirt pocket, sometimes 3! And they are color-coded, too. (Red one is for "things to buy"...as in "red/deficit"!; Green one is specifically for garden supplies, etc...green as in plants/grass, etc. Blue one is for misc other stuff.)

However, I also have home-made blackboards in the shoffice, one is 18" wide and 4 ft long attached to a door. It's used for various notes, picture drawing (DD!) and I even have different colored chalk in a box nearby.
