Plant ID forum: What's this orange tropical flower

My husband bought me a beautiful planter for mother's day. The reason was this one flower. We live in Ottawa Canada and don't see these in our garden centres. Ours is red and orange with an odd little yellow flower. They had yellow ones too.

Not sure it's really a tropical, either. One fellow posted a pic to the database from Utah.
