These are two bulblets i found a few weeks back where i have a cluster of asiatic lilies. Found them while i was pulling mulch back. They were basically right on the surface. I figured since it was spring time, might as well pot then them.

Now once the end of the growing season comes, should i plant them in the ground?

You can plant them in the ground in the garden or a nursery bed or keep them potted up with appropriate level of winter protection for the bulbs in your climate. I usually just plant them when ever I want simply because they are so hardy in my zone 3 gardens. If my gardens are quite over crowded I put them in a nursery bed otherwise they get tucked into an appropriate spot. Earlier this spring I found a bunch on top of the ground too and poked them into the only thawed patches of garden I could spot.

See photo below. We've all experienced this from time to time. Perhaps the easiest way to deal with those exposed little bulblets is to simply add another inch or so of compost around the mother bulb and over the bulblets. The bulblets will pull themselves down deeper in the ground as they grow. Of course, many of us just push them back down in the ground with our fingers---that's ok too. You can even pot them up and transplant them out in the Fall. Those little bulblets of most modern day hybrids are very hardy and will usually flower in 2 years.

Sorry Lorn. I should have added that they were stem bulblets. Not bulblets from scaling.
