Hello
I'm brand new to this forum and almost brand new to lilly growing.
Last year I planted a young Michigan lilly plant and this spring it emerged and was looking quite happy (about 10 inches tall). Unfortunately my dog landed on it and broke the stem about and inch from the ground. I am hoping that it will return next year as my supplier is sold out :(. My questions are: 1. does anyone have experience with this type of tragedy?
2.Are there any known suppliers for this lilly or something similar?
Much thanks. I have really enjoyed the photos you've posted.

The stalk might continue to grow this year, but no blooms i would imagine. The bulb should be okay for next year as long as it makes some leaves on the stalk this year to feed the bulb. But I'm no lily expert. Interested to see what the more experienced people think though

It's likely that the visible stem will just wither away for the season, but the underground bulb will be just fine. You won't see anything for the rest of this season, but next spring a new sprout will come up, happy as can be. So make sure you don't damage the bulb by accidentally digging it up (mark it well) and don't let the pouch do it either. Smiling I would grow some annual flowers there for this year, so the area doesn't look bare.
