This has me puzzled. It looks a little like Lunaria but the flowers are wrong. It's flowering now in a woodland garden in the north of England.

Any ideas?

Flowers.

It has similar form to Clerodendrum bungei. The leaf venation is amazing, I feel I have seen this before!

Can you give more information. Is it in one of the stately homes you visit?

If it's hardy I would like to grow it!

It's at Howick Hall in the north of England which has a fabulous woodland garden. It's a deciduous plant and definitely not a shrub.

The insects love it.

I've been checking our Howick Hall as I know you visit there. I can't find anything about the plants they grow except they have picked up seeds from around the world! I will bet that China or somewhere close like Cambodia or Vietnam is where it came from, that's where plant hunters hunt for plants.

Crug Farm Plants might have it, they go to these places ..

If you're ever back there when seed has made, you know what to do? Whistling
