I have a bunch of these two different types of weeds in my yard. I have no clue what they are! One is bushy, with very small white flower-type buds at the top. about 1 ft tall, and 1.5 foot wide in a lower "bushy" shape. The other grows in clumps of long, skinny, 1ft tall stems. HELP!

I think the first is wild cranesbill (wild geranium) and the second may be one called Clasping Venus's Looking Glass, Triodanus perfiolata. It's a pretty little wildflower, and the cranesbill, while it will fill lots of space, is easily thinned and pulled if you have too much of it. Nothing to worry about.

I think this is the one we have, Geranium carolinian: http://www.wildflower.org/plan...

(I'm also in Richmond. Smiling )

See pics at the links for comparison. What do you think?

I am also in Richmond - except in Texas - but I agree with the id.

I am so happy that you asked for the ID for you two plants because I also have your second (Clasping Venus's Looking Glass) plant in my yard and always wondered what it was. Thumbs up

Brent, yes, and the flowering plants sure would like a stretch of sunshine about now! Everything is s l o w on the bloom cycle. I hope they are all building good strong roots!

I read we are to expect unusually rainy weather through early June. Sticking tongue out

Those plants you pictured look quite healthy; bet you've got some good soil. (And, you're welcome.:) )

Greene, I love that little flower. I have protected it here from being weedwhacked by the yard guys and so encouraged it to spread a bit. It is just starting to bud out. I labored to ID it last year and saved the info (not in my brain, mind you. Green Grin! )
