I spent half of my life calling our Carolina Wrens by the wrong name of "House Wrens" before discovering my mistake. Whistling
I like the Carolina Wrens, too. They are funny little birds with cute, twitchy tail feathers! Lovey dubby
My parent's have a pair of CWs nesting on top of a roll of plastic gutter guard that it sitting on top of a storage cabinet in the carport. Big Grin

pretty sure house wrens prefer nest boxes , where carolina wrens will nest most anywhere.

I never even saw house wrens in my area until I put up bluebird houses.

I've had both, thinking the Carolinas are winter birds for me? they are really cute, one of the braver birds about coming to the deck. And so loud for such tiny birds!
Plant it and they will come.

I very seldom see any wrens or bluebirds here. Lots of sparrows, robins, doves, woodpeckers and grackles. I have heard wrens singing but never had any nest in my yard. I get mostly robins and squirrels in my trees.

Sad today. When I checked the nest yesterday the eggs were gone Sad Nest was fine...not a bit of damage to it. Told my son about the eggs and he allowed as how it was likely a snake that got them since the nest was left undamaged. While taking clothes out of the washer this morning I could hear Wren trilling outside...made me sad.

Talked to a friend today....she too was watching a wren nest. All 4 of her eggs hatched so guess I'll have to get my "baby hit" at her house Lovey dubby
