I'm soon going to set it up so that you can submit banner proposals directly into the system and have them appear on certain days. It'll be a lot easier for me since right now it's an entirely manual process

Maybe it is only my browser that lacks this, but is there a way to "like" or "thumb-up" the banner photo?

I also like the rapidly-changing "Random Plant" photos in the upper-right. The quick turnover motivates me to keep looking over there, lest I miss a good one.

I see now that I should have been scrolling down to see the bigger photos in the lower-left, but I use a large font size and seldom scroll down that far.

There's no thumbs-up for the banner. I'm not even sure where that could go!

That's a good point. I like 'em all, but sometimes they hit me as especially nice.

I don't suppose there's any archive of past banners, with contributor names?

Ummm ... to put this in context, the priority of any such feature deserves to be expressed as the reciprocal of some of the mega-numbers om the "nerdy count the reasons" thread.

I submitted over 50 of them I think, they are fun to see how the original image looks compared to the banner cropped ones. Maybe someday I'll create a thread for those somewhere, right now I am slammed with doing detail and image proposal approvals, I have several ladies who seem to have made a part-time job of entering details!

I was going to send Dave a couple of pictures for banner use but when I re-sized them (125 pixels high x 1200 pixels wide) they looked really strange and stretched so I couldn't even tell what the picture was, LOL so I'm not sure if I did it correctly. I might try again to see if I can figure it out but I am soooo technically challenged when it comes to computer stuff.

plantladylin, try cropping the photo instead of resizing

or...just send him the entire photo and he'll take care of it

Also thanks for doing database approvals. I woulkd never submit anything if I didn't know that they were being reviewed by someone with experience.

Can someone tell me how to remove the watermark with my name and all across my pictures? I've been meaning to ask and keep forgetting and that picture above reminded me of it!
