It was my first book on lilies.

Wait, this was my first "book". A booklet poduced by the North American Lily Society, and given to me when I was about twelve:

Me too! The NALS booklet was given to me by my Aunt when I was 12. I'm convinced it was the absolutely infectious expressions drawn on the lily-grower's faces that had me hooked. Lilies had to be good!

The caricatures are certainly inviting to a child's eyes.

I love those Let's Grow Lilies pictures. I still refer to that book a lot. It's a quick but very informative read.

I'm going to sign up for NALS in the near future. Doesn't seem like the Wisconsin-Illinois lily society is real active though

The closest active one for me is Iowa. Tough to get to meetings but has me connected to other lily people and the Iowa group is very active.
