hey folks! was wondering if anyone grows ostrich ferns aka. fiddleheads in their garden to eat? they grow wild all over up here, around streams and wet places and are a local delicacy. was wondering if anyone had luck with them in their garden? i find they are really beautiful as a full grown plant.

I have them in my shade garden. Because they are so aggressive I dig them up the extras and use them on the patio and in areas that I want something tall in a pot. I have never heard of anyone using them as food. That is interesting.

I don't grow them for food but have gone collecting. You can find them in supermarkets occasionally.
