I was told that the plant I was asking about in the gardens was Consolida ambigua 'Rocket Larkspur' while attending their plant sale last weekend. What do you all think?

“Little girl, why are you doing this? You can’t save all these starfish. You can’t begin to make a difference!” After a few moments thought, she bent down, picked up another starfish & hurled it as far as she could into the ocean. Then she looked up at the man and replied, “Well, I made a difference to that one!” Be the change you wish to see in the world. http://www.stillsthatspeak.com...

The tallest of these were easily 4 foot if that helps at all and was growing in full sun.

It looks a lot like the larkspur I just saw in my garden--but 4 feet is very tall for that! Some kind larkspur, though, I'm sure.

The second and third photo is Larkspur. Consolida ambigua is now a synonym for C. ajacis.

Looks like Love-in-a-Mist (Nigella damascena) to me too.

edited to add ... the first one looks like Love in a Mist. Smiling

You know, this season I think I'm getting my wish! My larkspur are just past waist-high on me--I guess around 3.5 feet. And have yet to open, so we'll see...!
