I am building a raised pallet garden where the soil WON'T be touching the ground. I have cut slats out where I want, to the depth I want.
** What is the best lining material to hold the soil but still allow for drainage?
** Would it be landscape cloth or plastic sheets with holes punched in it?
** Does it make a difference if that liner was installed on the inside or the outside of the pallet?
I'm obviously not worried about weed control. I've been searching for answers for hours. I would really appreciate your guidance.

How much support will the lining material have on the bottom? Photos would be helpful.
When I made planters using pallets, I lined the sides with plastic, but mine were tall and sat on the ground. I didn't put anything on the bottom.

I have used the roll black plastic that you find at Home Depot and Lowes and then punch plenty of holes in the very bottom, not the sides. Putting the plastic on the inside allows it to be better supported.
